Welcome to the website of the Croydon & District Chess League.

We are a small and friendly league for chess teams in South London. Matches are held at the venues of our member clubs in Battersea, Coulsdon, Crystal Palace, Dulwich, South Norwood, Streatham and West Wickham.

Matches played in the league are for teams of four players – so only one car is needed to take a team to its away fixtures. Teams compete in three divisions according to strength (see playing rules for details).

Our season starts in October each year and teams can apply to join up to the end of the September before the start of the new season.

You'll find more information about the league on this website, including news, recent results and league tables. If you are a chess player and you would like to find a team to play in, contact your nearest club. Teams thinking of applying for membership of the league should contact one of the league officials for further information.

His winning score was 5.5/6, ahead of Geoffrey Makumbi with 4.5 and Robin Haldane with 4. The grading prize was shared between Robert Wagstaff and Matthew Dodsley who both scored 3.
